Over 60+ products & 300+ shots later I can finally sit down. I still have to go back and get some shirts, ties, wallets, and a few hats. But I knocked out the Ladies & Mens boots, shoes, and sandals, and most of the Hats and Belts. About to work on this promo for "Drunk" and watch the game. I'll finish this up tomm.
YouTube finally switched my layout over to the new layout. I'm not to happy about it but I knew this day was coming. They've been alerting me weeks in advance to switch over because they were gonna force it. Oh well. This is the temp header I'll be using until I design a new header. My playlist will be updated as well as my name. I'm retiring "DurtyCuz" and using my name, Will Mydell. I'm also gonna be switching one of my websites names as well from www.DurtyCuz.com to either WillMydell.com or WillMydellPhotos.com...still debating on which one. Either way, I'll update you with which one I'll be using.

Another shoot in the bag. My lighting techniques are improving. Practice makes perfect. The photos from today's shoot should make for a nice cover and help out as a great promotional tool.

I love my new light setup. With my new softbox...The light is'nt that harsh as my last setup when I used continuous lights. Here's some shots form today's shoot. I'll be selecting from the shots I took today to create a CD Cover for Lethal Corleones next album.

It's amazing how water and milk splash brushes look similar to lava with the right style preset applied. I gotta remember that when I'm working on something else I want to use fire or lava in. I designed this poster for my client I just finished a photoshoot with so that he could have something nice to hang in his studio. Which shows musical notes emitting from his head, surrounded by fire, which is meant to show what he produces....Fire tracks. Hot tracks.
I also added a casting call questionnaire form for any aspiring models and experienced who are looking for TFP/TFCD. Everyone will not be chosen/selected. Only those who fit the description of what I'm looking for. If you have any questions about TFP/TFCD PLEASE click on the link up top, (F.A.Q.) and READ thoroughly through the frequently asked questions so you can save yourself the time of emailing me and asking a question that's already answered on this page. If you have what I'm looking for (looks, character) and I can add you to my portfolio I will contact you and discuss booking you based off the time you've selected on the form.
I finally uploaded my photo portfolio online. http://madscientistdesignz.com/photos I also added a F.A.Q. link to answer any questions you may have...alot of these questions I get alot, so I took the time to answer as many as possible under this link.
My first AlterEgo shoot came out nice. I must admit, I was rather timid about trying this style of photography out when I first noticed it. But when you stay consistent in your craft, that fear dissipates. I felt completely calm and in control on set and look forward to doing more alter ego shoots in the near future.
I'll be revising and rebuilding local music producer, Ontreal Bowers, website and giving it a more eye catching look. So we scheduled a photoshoot to have some updated photos to help brand his business, name and website. We shot these at his home studio and I got enough shots to use for future promotional use, as well for personal reasons (just to have some updated photos).
I designed a new flyer for my photography services to help better promote my business. I planned on creating one for each one of my services so when I decide to get them printed I can have one on each side. So if I have 2-3 different flyers I can have up to 6 different services to promote; one on each side. I'll probably begin printing them before school starts in August.

Finishing up the promotional flyer designed for West Savannah mean to help promote his new Mixtape which will be releasing on the 11th of May. I had fun designing this as well. I put him in a cool environment, and cooled the colors to give it a stormy look. I added some flying newspaper as if the wind was blowing hard, and added dirt and dust particles to give it the look as if the weather is bad. I also added an old school chevy in the back, and added some headlights to it, with some bokeh lights to make it seem like the car was on with the high beams on. Finally, I added some flames (on the flyer version) to give it that intense look, as if he was on fire (hot). I got alot of good feedback from it, and alot of people are digging it.
Older client and Facebook friend Antonio Key was published in the latest edition of Amps Magazine Dallas out of Dallas, Texas. Connie Morgan got him the nice ad placement in there magazine and the artwork I did for him was placed in the ad as well. "This is how you put good work to good use" he quotes. You can check out the mag @ www.ampsdallas.com
Finished up the mixtape cover for West Savannah Mean. I added alot of detailed contrast and balanced out the finished image between two primary colors, orange and blue. I also added an ambulance, some cops arresting a guy in the background, and some crime scene tape. To give it more of a crime scene look I added some body outlines on the street to finish it out. Simple, and to the point. It came out rather nice.
Another CD Cover for D.J. Scooby. The mixes just keep coming and coming. He called and made a request for this one. That I added sexy women and one artist. So I thought of a hotel room, with a few video vixens, and a camera setup on a tripod. It came out pretty good.
I got a call from two local artist wanting to update their portfolio with new photos which could be used for promotional use as well as for any print designs in the near future. So I was happy to oblige. Str8G needed photos only, West Savannah Mean needed photos and a CD package done, as well as a promotional flyer for his upcoming mix-tape. I'll post that once it's finished.
Nino Black is a happy client and loves doing business with me. Today he needed some updated photos to help brand himself and his organization, Mob Life Entertainment. So we setup a shoot with an oldschool gangster feel, with a poker table (table with green cloth, some poker chips, some cash, and cigar. With a few prop weapons) and did a photoshoot based around the groups name...Mob Life. Which was rather fun to shoot. We will probably do another shoot like this in the future, but with more detail in it, like with him wearing a 3 piece suit, a brim hat, and a female bringing him drinks. But we'll keep you posted once we come around to that.
I ran into a young lady that I went to high-school with who was working on completing her portfolio to end out the semester at Savannah State University. She needed to be recorded/filmed as she presented her project which was displayed using powerpoint, and she also needed some professional photos and custom designed CD Insert to present her professor on the day of the presentation. So I was happy to help her out. We took some shots outside of the Business building and inside of the Library. The shots inside of the Library were used to create the insert.
My church, Faith of God Christian Center, located on 2129 Rowland Ave, has a pastor, Jerald D.Jenkins, who preaches different sermons throughout the year. So I take it upon myself to help brand the church by designing flyers and cd covers for each sermon for future use in the television/internet ministries. I place the time of the sermons on them, along with the location and title of the sermon on each flyer and CD label.
On this day, Savannah State University will be swearing in a new president, Dr. Cheryl Dozier. Who will be the Universities 13th, and first female president. Fortunately I was selected amongst a few known photographers throughout the city to do freelance photography at some of the events hosted throughout the week in honor of the new president.
The inauguration was held in the Tiger Arena located on Savannah States Campus. Later that night I also took photos at the Gala which was held at the Marriott downtown Savannah.
On location, at Thorough Entertainment Studios, we continued shooting with Lethal Corleone, for his first video, "Take Off". We are closing, or should I say, coming to a close with the video. We have a few more scenes to shoot and we will be able to present it to the world. Outside of the actual shooting, the bulk of the work will be done with visual effects. So stay tuned, and Like Us on Facebook for updates on the shoot.
Despite the change of weather which made us change days of shooting, as well as location, from outside, to inside, we went on ahead and started shooting the rest of the scenes for the video. This shoot was initially suppose to be for another scene, which would be shot outside, but due to high winds and rain, we decided to finish the rest of the storyline and skip ahead to other scenes. This video will have compositing within it. Which would include green screening, 3D objects, and motion graphics. So look forward to viewing a great video, shot on a low budget, with good editing.
YouTube recently just launched a new layout for their channels. Alot of users and account holders are'nt to happy with the new setup. Nevertheless, we all can't have what we want and just have to go with the flow. It's no longer a full page layout, it now looks like the Timeline banners on Facebook. So I will be updating my prices on my social network graphis, which will affect the bundle price I have for purchasing all three graphics for major social networks (Twitter, Facebook, & Twitter). So Bookmark the site, like us on Facebook, and stay tuned for updated pricing.
This is my second to last Digital Photo for Easter. On this design, I wanted to attack the water enviornment. Which I wanted to do in one of the previous designs, but didnt have the concept quite thought through yet.
For one, I couldnt find a good boat. Once I did, I knew off the bat, that I wanted to portray two different scenes. An underwater scene, and an Outdoor scene. To achieve this, I had to add creatures of the air (which would be above the water), along with a nice sceneic background. And creatures of the sea (Which would be beneath the water), along with some cool animals swimming around. When I found the boat I wanted to use, I wanted to give it a lamp, because the boat looked similar to something you would see on a fantasy movie, like Lord of the Rings, or Legend. With the light I knew I would want to add glow bugs, and if I added glow bugs, I would have to turn the scene into a night scene, or something similiar to evening. So it started off as day time, and ended up with a bright moon lighting the surface.
Overall, I'm satisfied with the results. Like any other design I create, it tested my creativity, as well as my ability to think outside of the box. Posted below are the Before & After Photos.
This is my 7th digital Easter photo. Another digital design I had fun creating. With such a good posture, and a sturdy smile, I decided to place this young lady in a garden, sitting on a nice bench, surrounded by furry animals and Easter eggs.
I through the background slightly out of focus and kept everything in the foreground in focus. Added shadows underneath the bench and by the feet of the girl to give it a realistic look, also under the animals and eggs. A scenery fit for a young princess. I think it came out rather good. Posted below are the Before & After Photos.
The Owner and Operator of this hair salon, Star Struck Hair Boutique, needed some flyers to help promote her business, services, and service times, and we were happy to help. This hair salon is located within the heart of Savannah on Bull St., so if you are interested in getting your hair fixed feel free to give them a call or stop by for any other inquiries.
Just B Jazy, fashion and styling boutique, is hosting a fashion show in Savannah on the 24th and needed some flyers to help promote the event, so they contacted me to help them create a stylish, eye catching flyer that would draw in the crowd.
Rolling right along with the Easter photos, up next, we have a studious young fellow by the name of Tobias.
On this photo I wanted to give him a very educational look. I know this kid personally and I know he's very booksmart, so I wanted to compliment him, and his pose, with a very booksmart look. When I started searching for stockfree photos, I started looking for the background. The background I wanted was something similiar to a library, or office with a bookshelf. Once I found that, next I started searching for foreground objects. One of which I knew I wanted, which was a end table with coffee/tea on it, with steam rising from it. Everything else fell into place with a little bit of creative thinking. Plants, Flower Pots, Globe, Lamp, Dog, Rug, Umbrella, & Chair. Posted below are the Before & After photos.
As part of the events taking place on Savannah State's Campus in honor of the new president, there was a performance by local band, Nickle Bag of Funk. This is a three piece band consisting of a drummer, keyboard player, and lead singer. They play alot of old and new pop and r&b songs, and they sounded really good. Being a musician, I could really recognize the talent and hard work put into their performance. You could tell they put in alot of hours when it comes to practice.
Finishing up my 5th Easter photo. This one is set in a nice open field, with the young girl sitting on a swing. I envision all of the people that I take photos of, before hand, in a certain enviroment, sitting or standing in a specific area. Which helps me decide what type of background to look for, as well as foreground, and foreground objects, that I would like to place in it to make it look realistic. Posted below are the Before & After photos.
Another Easter Photo that's finally finished. I placed the young man on top of a balcony, with a nice resort looking scene, as if he were at a hotel or on a business trip at a nice hotel. To add more detail I added shubs, plants, and giraffes. I tinted the photo with a blue and orange tint to give it the look as if the sun is setting. With an overall color correction, and light and contrast adjustment, I think the overall look came out pretty nice. Posted below are the Before & After photos.
Another digital photo art design which I had fun designing. I did'nt know what or where I wanted to start with this one so I started looking for a good background. Once I found one, I started looking for foreground items to match it. Seeing that this background had roses, I decided to find rose petals to cover the foreground. The petals I found were red, so I had to turn them pink. Once I changed the colors, I spread them out as if they were falling from a tree. I also had some blowing past her leg and in front of her as if a gust of wind came by. I did a few spot corrections on the skin to clear up any acne and also softened up the skin. I added shadows under her, and under the birds to give it a more realistic look. I also put some petals out of focus to give it a good depth of field. Posted below are the Before & After photos.
My second Easter photo turned out to be an easy workload. I only used 4 elements in this design: A nice sky background, an eagle, a feather, and an Easter basket. Along with an energetic little boy, the photo came out nicely.
I started out by extracting the eagle from a nice stock photo I found on line. After that I positioned young Zion on the eagle to make it look like he was riding the eagle. I then added the easter basket and color corrected it to make it match the background. Added some feathers and then color corrected the whole image. I also blurred some of the feathers to give it an out of focus look. And then blurred the background edges and eagle wings to give it the impression he's actually flying through the clouds, giving it the zoom by look. Everyone that saw the photo got a real kick out of it. Posted below are the Before & After photos.
My first Easter photo of the day. The young girl took such a nice pose, looking off into the distance, my first thought was to put something in the foreground that she would be looking at...like birds or butterflies. I chose butterflies.
Once I found a nice background scene I decided to have her sit on something that fit the background. My first option was a bolder rock, with plants around it. But I had some mushroom stock photos that looked nice so I went with those. I added some grass around them to give it a more realistic look. And also added two squirrels. Finally I added some dandelions blowing off in the wind to give it a springtime look. Posted below are the Before & After photos.
I had a good time at church. I knew alot of local photographers in the area were gonna be setting up shop around town, taking pictures for Easter, I just decided to not advertise photography services and just take my equipment to church and take photos of the kids that attended our church. For one, I'm the camera man, I record every sermon each Sunday, so missing a day of service to make money on the side was'nt a good look on my part. Also, not having a guarantee that people would show up if I did advertise photography services played a major part as well. I figured this was the bet option. Not only would I have kids to take photos of, but I could advertise my work, before and after, and still be able to do my duty to the church by being there to record the service. So it worked out well
I also was able to take photos of my pastor and his wife for future promo/marketing. We plan on getting back on tv real soon so having some updated photos for future use was a good. So I kind of got two in one.
I got a call from local performing artists "U.G.H", in reference to receiving the best graphics in town. I was happy to set them up. The group contains three people, so I took each individuals photo so I could composite them later. And then I took photos of all three with them being close together. I took straight forward shots and I took foreshortening shots. The front and back covers came out nice. I also composited a commercial photo for my own personal portfolio. For professional commercial photos packages, for CD, Press, or Promo contact me via email at WMydell@gmail.com.
Every month I update my Facebook Fanpage header with the projects I've done from the previous month. Visit my Facebook Fanpage and be sure to like it so you can stay posted on all of my latest work and projects.
Finishing up the CD packaging for local artist, Cport Self. His latest album is entitled "Lyrical Pornstar", so the conceptual game plan behind this got rather explicit. Nothing nude of course, but my client wanted the title to match the design. So during the shoot we took shots accordingly to how he envisioned it to be. We also took alot of portrait shots for future use on promotional flyers and posters. Photos I never use are uploaded to my DeviantArt page for stock usage for the art world. The client was very pleased with the work.
I found myself charging less than what I should be for the type of quality work, as well as quantity of work, I was putting out. The days of getting your name out there and charging low prices just to get work are over. I could understand if my work was ameature but it is far from that. I spend alot of time on my work and put in alot of hours so I feel I should be compensated for it. As time progresses, and my work continues to get better, I will eventually have to update it again. I invest all of my spare change into better equipment and better software to improve the value and quality of my work. You get what you pay for. There's a quote I use on all of my post online, and it goes "Don't settle for standard, when you can get custom...If you believe in yourself, Invest in yourself."
HevyTraffick Entertainment, hooked up with CBC Lifestyle and Thorough Entertainment, contacted me needing an event flyer for a live performance by a couple of local artist. I found a good stock photo of a guy holding a mic on Shutterstock.Com and decided to use him for the design. The client needed something fast and simple so I kept it simple and to the point.
Finishing up with the CD Packaging with local artist Bobby Middleosn, last thing on the list was the back cover. In some cases, the artist go ahead and pay for the whole package, and ask for the front cover, so they can promote it in advance. Reason being, some of the songs, which are gonna be listed on the back, may still be in the middle of being mixed or mastered, and they're not sure what order they are gonna put them in, or if they are gonna remove any of the songs from the track list. This was one of those cases. Either way, the cover came out nice, as well as the commercial photo I did to generate the cover.
I've designed business cards for this young lady and she was so satisfied she came back and ordered some flyers. There was a big hair show going on in town that weekend so what better way to promote yourself than with some 4x6 glossy flyers with a classy design. With all of her contact information and form of hairstyles and hair she provides whoever gets one of these flyers will have an easy way of contacting her and setting up an appointment.
When your work stands out and you get calls from other cities about services and prices, you know you're brand is getting out there. I got a call from a young lady in the Atlanta area who said she heard about my work and researched it online and decided to let me do her logo for her blogging website. So I took on the project and came up with something that fit her needs. She was very impressed with the turnout.
In this video I want to test my limits of pulling off cool visual effect. And the client also suggested that his video be different from the others that were promoted in this area, which were very cliche. So I decided to shoot green screen, and I decided to shoot green screen first so I could knock out all of the hard work first, which would be compositing, color correcting, and visual effects. It went pretty good for the first day of shooting. Aftewards, I was able to key out the background nicely and set it up for whatever I plan on doing later on. I'm not gonna say to much about what I plan on doing in the video so just stay posted, Like me on Facbeook, follow me on Twitter & Instagram and stay posted.
Not only is this client a performing artist but he's a seasoned chef. He loves to cook and buss rhymes in other words. Coming up with a logo to compliment his brand, Meat Faktory Musik Group, would take some conceptual thinking, because not only would it be used for his music group, but to market his cooking services as well. A nice logo which could be used on paraphernalia such as aprons, hats, t-shirts, and such. So I came up with two concepts, one which would be used for music, and the other which would be used for his cooking services, which would have a more business look to it.
Finishing up the front coverr and promotional flyer for Bobby Middlesons new CD, "There Will Be Blood". I had fun designing this. Seeing that the artist is a cook/chef, and he goes by the name 'The Butcher', I thought it would be awesome to do a design where he was in a butcher shop, or meat shop. It came out rather good. The photo may look horrific and scary but it fit's the title very well. And the compositing came out nice. With splattered blood, meat hanging, grit and grime everywhere, the client got his moneys worth.
With the word around town getting out quickly about the quality of my work, and by me displaying it across social networks and on my website, people are starting to call and ask, how can you give me the look I need to get my name out there? With a nack for taking shots in different types of angles, and having enough vision to bring anything requested to life, people are starting to get the picture of who's the best man in town to go to for commercial art and photography.
This young group of performing artist are looking to brand themselves, so what better way to start than by getting a custom logo designed. Currently they are in the process of putting their press kit together so they can promote themselves better and get their names out there more. I designed this in Illustrator and saved it in multiple files (.eps, gif, png, jpg) so they could use it on multiple things.
Having just finished up a photoshoot with this group, we had plenty of photos to work with when it came to deciding the photo which would be used to promote their album release party. Once again, I designed this as commercial art and then turned it into a flyer. It started off as a landscape designed and ended up as a portrait.
This is an event flyer to celebrate the life of someone who passed a few years ago. A celebration which is held every year at the same park by friends and loved ones. I added a HDR look to the flyer to make everything pop and kept it simple and to the point.
This client needed a flyer to promote his Birthday Bash and we were happy to oblige. I placed the client behind a bar, as if he were selling drinks, and added some drinks on top of the bar to give the "Come out and party/drink with me for my birthday". I think the concept came out real nice. I also added some light flares, bokeh lights and overall warm color to finish off the flyer.
This is the 7th mixtape cover I've designed for D.J.Scooby. With this design, I wanted to use a new brush that I purchased from Daz3D.com, which was a rain brush. I used it in a personal design already but not for a commissioned job. I really love the options you have with this brush. It has alot of rain splatters, dropplets, hard rain, soft rain, etc. It really allows you to be as creative as you want. The client really liked the design and said he got alot of feedback from it.
Local performing artist Cport Self booked a shoot with me to begin promoting his new album, "Lyrical Pornstar". I got in alot of great shots which could be used for the album, but only two will make the cut. The rest of the photos will be held for future use and some will be used as stock images for digital artist on my DeviantArt.com page.
This was more of a personal project. I had plent of photos left over from the Dogz4Life photoshoot and decided to get some photo manipulation practice in by using one of their photos. Also I just obtained a bokeh light brush from Daz3D.com and I wanted to try it out.
This was the first fully detailed commercial photo I did for the year. And I must say I'm proud of the turnout and results. I got alot of feedback about how sharp and realistic it looked and I got alot of inbox messages and emails about service after I posted it. I designed this to promote the new single by Lethal Corleone, "Take Off", and video that I will be producing this spring.
Every month I update my Facebook Fanpage header with the projects I've done from the previous month. Visit my Facebook Fanpage and be sure to like it so you can stay posted on all of my latest work and projects.
After the "Take Off" photo-shoot with Lethal Corleone I decided to get some practice in by manipulating one of his photos. And sense I was gonna be shooting some of his video using green screen I decided to use an airstrip background to try and gain some insight of how I wanted to setup the scene.
Going over photos from recent photo-shoot with Lethal Corleone. He is getting ready to release a new album and new single to promote that album and is in need of new photos to help promote it. So I was happy to help out. For lighting I used a rim light, and two umbrellas for soft light. The photos came out rather nice.
Late afternoon reviewing photos from latest shoot with Tatmoney Yoow. A simple shoot for a promotional flyer turned into a full blown action shoot, using props, such as a sword, airsoft pistols, and a rifle. All of which came out to be great stock images which could/can be used for future commercial art, or just for getting good practice in.
More Photo Commercial Art practice after the photo-shoot I had with Bobby Middleson. He is about to release a new album, "There Will Be Blood", and with so many good shots taken at the shoot I thought I'd get some photo manipulation practice in. I found a good shot of an old abandoned meat factory and used it as the background. And used sparks from an Explosion pack I got off line to give the impression he was sharpening the butcher knife. If you look real close, you can also see a guy tied up inside of his shades.
Reviewing photos from my latest shoot with Bobby Middleson. He is about to release a new album and needed some new photos to not only promote it but to be used in the making of his new CD coverart.
Local performing artist Tatmoney needed a promotional event flyer to promote his next video shoot at a local club. I designed it to bring out the ladies, which were requested, and added a HDR look to the overall look to make the overall design pop out and look stunning.
Digital Design practice is always good for a man of my profession. I found a free stock photo of a guy posing in a fighting stance and I had to do something with it. I am a huge fan of the martial arts so this was fun to work on. I pulled up one of my old favoriate movies, Street Fighter: The Animated Movie, and used the opening fighting scene, between Sagat & Ryu, as a reference for the design, especially for the lightning and for the rain.
Fire, Smoke, & Dragons. What better way to kick off a good design. I found this free stock image of a guy holding an axe, and the first thing I thought was, lets go pre-historic. Although this design is'nt all the way pre-historic, but I would say I tried to date it back to the age of castles and wizards and knights. I added alot of sparks and fire, smoke and debris, and tried to portray an image of chaos and mayhem.
HousePartyBoyz gave me a call in need of an event flyer to help promote their next event which would be held in the Atlanta area. They already had a concept and foreground model and logo so all I had to do is jazz it up. The bulk of the work was re-designing the Hollywood of the South logo which was sent to me at low res. So I had to redo it over.
This is the 6th Mixtape coverart I've designed for D.J.Scooby. With a R&B spin to this album I decided to add a R&B artist on the cover this time. The photo was low res so I had to do some retouching on this image as well as dodging and burning. With a few high passes with different color correcting tones and opacities I was able to achieve the look I wanted.
This month I am having a promot for Pin-Up photography and digital design. I dont see much pinup photography done in this area, truthfully I don't see any. So I thought it would be cool to do something different as well offer a different type of service in this area in the field of photography. I was glad when this young lady contacted me and said she was interested. We did a nice kitchen wife shoot, with her baking cookies. She had a great time as well as I during the shoot and got alot of positive feedback once she posted it on her page.
A group of performing artist by the name of Cport Roadshow, hooked up with a Ms. Ernestine Purdy of Spiritual Detox to host a Speed Dating event at a local club in Savannah. It was to be a singles mixer along with performances by local R&B artist from the surrounding area. Events like this are very rare in this area, being that Savannah is a small city, so I'm pretty sure the turnout will be nice.
Local performing artist Nino Black and Lethal Corleone needed a logo to help brand their organization and I was happy to help. I wanted to keep it simple and subtle, yet, keep it bold and strong, which I think was portrayed within the vector image of the man in the suit smoking the cigar.
After driving around for hours passing out flyers in barber shops and hair salons, trying to introduce what I do the locals, I get a call from one of the local shops asking for a print design. Which was great timing because we are in the middle of Black History month and the Black Heritage Festival was about to take place. And every year people flock to Savannah to promote their business. This barber shop, Jazzy Cutz, will be setting up two chairs and cutting hair at the festival and needed flyers to pass out, so I was able to bring to life what the owner wanted on the flyer and meet the print deadline so to they could have them available at the festival to pass out.
If you need shoes or boots that'll snap at you, go visit Issac down at Crocodile World. I had fun making this flyer, giving it a swamp look, with moss hanging from the top and from the corners. I took a good while masking out several shoes and boots in different colors and styles to display on the flyer as well, to show a variety of what's offered at the shop. The client was happy with the turnaround and the overall turnout of the flyer and quoted that this was the best quality work he's seen in town.
After creating the pin-up design I thought I would make a flyer to promote the service.
With the biggest game of the year approaching, I thought it would be cool to design something to show off how everyone is during the Super Bowl...which is overly excited. I got this image of these 4 guys sitting on the couch cheering, I masked them out, and made a football field for them to sit on. I kind of got the idea from a Visa ad I saw done with this soccer player on it. By me trying to break into the commercial photography business I thought this would be good practice for me. I added stadium lights, lens flares, and a cloudy sky. I also did retouching on the guys and an overall dodge and burn to make the image pop.
Not only am I looking to do Pin-Up photography, but I'm looking to add it to my repertoire and overall collection of services that will be provided. Shooting PinUp looks fun to me. I think it provides a more classy, and sexy look to how a female is shot with a camera. You always see alot of raunchy looking photos, with women displaying themselves in a, what I call, video h*e look, borderline pornographic. But Pinup has a more sexiness to it. Even though some pinup shots are hot with lingerie, the overall turnouts are awesome. So for my first crack at it I took a stock photo that I got offline and created my own photo manipulation to promote and show off so I could get some feedback on rather or not women in this area would be interested or not in shooting pinup. With most new things I present to this area, I'm pretty sure it'll take awhile before people catch on. It's hard breaking people from their camera phones and putting them in front of a real camera.
Every so often I take pictures of myself just to update my portfolio, or just to have photos available should I need to update my personal Facebook page or to have available to update my banners on my web page, as seen above. I'm not a big fan of taking photos, which is weird to some seeing that I'm a photographer, but I often find taking photos and posting them is for people who love attention, or fancy themselves to the point that they have to show the world how they look all the time. Which is why I think they have Instagram. All to often you see people posting pictures of themselves every chance they get with their camera phones, and I think it's getting out of hand. Not only does it look like a fad to me but it cuts into the business of photographers. With people thinking that they only need photos of themselves, which mostly come from their cell phones, it eliminates, and somewhat hurts the services we provide. So I only post pictures of myself, or taken of me, online, with high resolution, to show off my services, and to show that photographers still exist and that paying for a photoshoot to have good quality pictures over low quality photos is still an option.
More photo manipulation work. I found a new friend on Deviant Art who took some really cool stock photos. Different and exciting. He had this image of him holding a shotgun with a mask on, and the first thing that came to mind was end of world. This photo consisted mainly of color adjusting, a stock photo of a barren land, two destroyed houses, and a cloudy sky. To view the full image in detail visit my DeviantArt page ARTPAGE
This week I spent my time visiting small businesses in the local Savannah area that specialized in hair. Which would be Barber Shops and Hair Salons. Introducing them to me and letting them know what services I provide for small businesses. Services that could help grow their business, increase their clientele, and gain more exposure through the power of the World Wide Web. Check out one of our Sample Sites HERE!!

More Photo Manipulations. I leaned more towards a fantasy design on this one. Taking the canvas and sticking her in a open forest outside of the castle with horses and squirrels to keep her company. This manipulation took longer than most due to the multiple objects placed in it. There are over 6 different trees and plants, birds, and fences as well. More commissioned Cd Cover Artwork. D.J. Scooby needing more artwork because he's making more mixtapes. Seeing that we ran out of photos from his last shoot we decided to use the artist as the main photos. This cover came out nice also. I did'nt dodge and burn as I usually do. Yet, I used Black & White Adjustment layers, Blending modes, and mask to create the high contrast look that I wanted. To check out the image in full detail visit my Deviant Art Site. ART SITE
Another photo manipulation by MadScientist Designz. This one I had fun with because I'm a big fan of Martial Arts. I found a stock image of an African American woman dressed in samurai gear, equipped with a sword. So I had fun placing her on a battlefield with a horse and eagle to show that she's in the middle of battle. To check out the full image in detail check it out on my Deviant Art page. ART SITE

This is the second digital art design I did for Valentine's Day. This one is pretty cool I think. For spontaneous couples who would love to do an exciting shoot. This started as a couple in the tub, toasting with champagne. And I added everything else. (The city, fireworks, sky, rug, rose pedals, & roof top) If you are interested in doing something like this for you and your couple email us @ MadScientistDesignz@Gmail.com. We accept Paypal if you are out of our area and we do photography as well if you are in the local area. To see the image in full detail visit my DeviantArt page. ART SITE
I do alot of work for my church. Work including video recording, video editing, and print and digital design for our website, and for the media, which would be poster flyer designs to promote the new sermons presented by the pastor, and cd labels to go on the cd's we make for each message being taught each Sunday and Wednesday. Being that this is my place of worship I choose not to charge, I do it for free, and I dont complain. It feels good to do something for God when he does so much for me without asking.
More commissioned work. This is for a local group of artist who came together to form a team to travel and promote their talents. A compilation of songs and artist who are trying to maximize their exposure by working together. To see the image in full detail visit my DeviantArt page. ART SITE
Valentine's Day is fastly approaching so I thought I would do a couple of digital art designs that would show potential customers what type of work I do for couples who would be interested in a different type of Valentines Gift. Candy and flowers dont last as long as a portrait that says more than words can. If you are interested in doing something like this for you and your couple email us @ MadScientistDesignz@Gmail.com. We accept Paypal if you are out of our area and we do photography as well if you are in the local area. To see the image in full detail visit my DeviantArt page. ART SITE
This client, "NeuEra Media Group", wanted something different from the normal designs I provide for them for the MLK Celebration. Seeing that they are a media group and do alot of video in town, they wanted a DVD label that was very artistc but still represented MLK. So we provided just that.
New tutorial finally posted on blog-site. This is an intermediate tutorial, so even a novice should be able to achieve a cool design. To check out the tutorial for this design visit my website @ www.Madscientistdesignz.com/laboratory/?p=363
Finishing up another cd cover for local artist TatMoney. This is a new single he's promoting entitled "Take it Off". I designed this one with him in a 3D rendered bed scene, on the back of a yacht, night sky, with a model next to the bed. You can visit his site at www.YoowNation.com, which was also designed by MadScientistDesignz.
I made another update to the CD Artwork Site. I now have one available to view in Flash, and the other now available to view in HTML (easier for cell lower end cell phones that can't access Flash media). I'm trying to make all questions, inquires, and curiosities about my CD promotion services SO easy to be answered that it eliminates all emailing or inboxing. The site should have all information needed for obtaining services. So the html site will be http://MadscientistDesignz.com/cd/Promo.html
The second black and white photo I decided to color in was a rememberable moment in history. This photo was when Martin Luther King Jr. was removing a burned cross from his front yard with his son is at his side at their home in Atlanta, GA, back in 1960. Tragic times these were. I thought it said alot and I thought it would be interesting to color in. You can see the print in full detail on my DeviantArt site as well as the original photo so you can see how much work went into coloring it in.ART SITE
Seeing that it's Martin Luther King Jr.'s birthday I decided to do a colorized photo of him. I chose two photos. First, with him on a bus, carrying three books...John Kenneth Galbraith:The New Industrial State, The Confessions of Nat Turner: William Styron, and The Holy Bible. I did two colorings of this photo. One being partial (just MLK), the other being fully colored, (including the bus, and other 3 people). You can check out the prints on my DeviantArt site in full detail. ART SITE
I'm proud to say that one of my designs was featured in a UK magazine, "Photoshop Creative". A well known resource, tutorial, and informational magazine for designers across the world. It's based out of the UK, and I'm proud to see that my work is being noticed across the globe and not just locally. This will most definetly be the first of many magazine features for me as I continue to create stunning artwork.

The tutorial with have full detailed steps, plus links to the resources used in the design.
Here's the 4th Cover we've designed for D.J. Scooby. He said business is good so as long as he's selling mixtapes that keeps the heads nodding we'll keep designing his covers.
In continuation to the build of HevyTrafficks Website, we just finished the coming soon homepage for their star artist, The Reason. With perfect timing, seeing that they are releasing a new mixtape by The Reason entitled, "N.I.K.E.", and with their first party event to kickstart the year. Great way to promote not only the artist, but the group as a whole.

Hello, welcome to my website. Here you can keep up with my latest, past and current personal and commissioned projects.
I have been shooting with a camera for over 5 years but never took it serious until 2011. Vision has always been my forte. I started manipulating photos before I got serious with photography. Keeping up with the competitive market I decided to enhance the quality of my graphics by upgrading my equipment to something more professional. So I purchased a digital SLR camera so I could have more control over my shooting functions as well video. Outside of photography and video making I also design websites and print design. Mastering all areas of media and visual arts is my ultimate goal.
Right now I am doing freelance work. I do take freelance jobs involving Special Events
(Galas, Graduations, Christening, Bar Mitzvahs) Photojournalism, Action (specializing in kid sports), Glamour, Portraiture, Weddings or Advertising. I am welcome to all challenges presented in this field and open to different ideas on different style photo-shoots. I also love to shoot Macrophotography and Documentary as well on my free time.
